Mangalista Pigs
The Mangalista pig is classed as a rare breed pig here in the UK but in Hungary, it is classed as their domestic pig.
This breed was developed in the mid 19th century by crossing breeds from Nagyzalonta and Bakony with the European wild boar and a Serbian Sumdija breed. The Mangalista pig grows a thick curly coat of hair. This breed is well known for the marbling in the meat which creates beautiful mouth-watering flavours. The meat does not require any additional fats adding whilst cooking as it produces its own amazing fats and juices for basting. You can then save this to make amazing Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes.
This pork is classed as the highest quality of pork in the pork world. Equivalent to Wagyu beef in the beef world.
